Mrs. Joanna Gittins, widow of the late Rev. Edward Gittins, died December 29, at her home in West Linn. She suffered a heart attach which proved fatal in a few hours.
She was born in Iowa, June 19, 1852, and married in May, 1878, to Edward Gittins. Children born to the union were Robert Gittins, deceased, Margaret Gittins of West Linn, Mary Mishler of Eugene, Edward Gittins, deceased and Frances Brown of West Linn.
Mrs. Gittins was a former resident of Salem, where her husband was pastor of Leslie Methodist church.
Graveside services will be held Saturday, December 31, at 2 p.m. at the City View cemetery where interment will follow. Rev. Earl Cotton will officiate.
