1906 and 1908 graduate of Notre Dame University. Massachusetts State Senator 1921-1925. With his brother, Rev. Michael J. Shea, wrote the "Notre Dame Victory March." John wrote the words and his brother, Michael wrote the music. The song was first debuted in 1908 when Michael played it on the organ of the Second Congregational Church in Holyoke, Massachusetts.
