Marion T. Peters of Pleasant Grove passed away February 14, 2011 after a brief illness.

She was born on March 21, 1925 in Holbrook Arizona to Joseph Marion Tanner and Lilly Black Tanner. She married Frederick Henry Peters on November 17, 1945 who preceded her in death on June 30, 1979.

Marion was an active member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints. Her simple faith and testimony was a strength to everyone who knew her.

Marion was a woman of many talents, very energetic and worked very hard, even in her later years. One of the greatest joys in her life was working with the special needs community. She was instrumental in establishing the PALS organization which was a musical-comedy group comprised solely of special needs individuals who performed all over the state of Utah. She also took in a special needs foster child after her children had grown.

She dearly loved her family and is survived by her daughter Pat Haddock of Orem Utah and her husband Rod Haddock, and her son Mike Peters of Fort Collins Colorado and his wife Sue Peters. She also leaves behind 10 grandchildren and their spouses, and 18 great grandchildren. She was overjoyed with the prospect of 3 additional great grandchildren who are on the way.

Funeral services will be held on Saturday February 19, 2011 at 11:00 AM in the Canyon Road LDS Chapel, 2195 N 100 E, Pleasant Grove, Utah.

There will be no viewing at her request. A private family graveside service will be held following the funeral service at Orem City Cemetery.

In lieu of flowers donations may be made to Special Olympics Utah. http://www.sout.org/. Condolences may be sent to the family at www.olpinmortuary.com.
