Nina Stubbs Kennedy, 85, died Sunday in Statesboro Nursing Home after a long illness. The Bulloch County native lived in Terrell County for several years before moving back to Bulloch County in 1940. She was a 1921 graduate from Statesboro High School and received her master of Education degree from Georgia Teachers College in 1961. She was a member of the Senior Women's Club and the Statesboro Primitive Baptist Church.
Survivors include a daughter, Kate Pate, Statesboro; two brothers, Lehman Stubbs, Millen and Grover Stubbs, Statesboro; a sister, Mary Denmark, Orlando; three grandchildren and five great-grandchildren.
The funeral for Mrs. Kennedy will be Wednesday at 2 p.m. in Statesboro Primitive Baptist Church with Elders William H. Durrence and T. Roe Scott officiating. Burial will be in Eastside Cemetery. Nephews will serve as active pallbearers.
