1905 graduate of Notre Dame University. Parish Priest of St. Augustine's Catholic Church and Sing Sing prison chaplain. With his brother, John Francis Shea, wrote the "Notre Dame Victory March." Michael wrote the music and his brother, John, wrote the words. The song was first debuted in 1908 when Michael played it on the organ of the Second Congregational Church in Holyoke, Massachusetts.

Son of John F. & Mary E. (Griffin) Shea.
