BAY ST. LOUIS - Adele "Madear" Marie Collins, 75, died Friday, May 24, 2002, in Gulfport.
She was born March 29, 1927 in Bay St. Louis and she was a member of St. Rose de Lima Catholic Church in Bay St. Louis.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Oscar "Rip" Collins; her parents, James and Ophelia Fairconeture; a brother, James Fairconture; two sisters, Rosalie Roy and Delores Cooper.
Survivors include, three sons, Andre Collins of San Antonio, Texas, James Collins of Rapid City, S.D., and Philip Williams of Bay St. Louis; two daughters, Diane Smith of Bay St. Louis, and Johnetia Rhone of Plainfield, N.J.; 21 grandchildren; and 18 great-grandchildren.
Services will be 11 a.m. Friday, at St. Rose de Lima Catholic Church where friends may call one hour before service time. Burial will be in Biloxi National Cemetery, directed by J.T. Hall Funeral Home, Inc. in Gulfport.
