He was born Sept. 30, 1927, in Kersey, a son of the late Alois and Charlotte Benson Wildfire.
In Feb. 1952, he was married to Elizabeth "Betty" L. Woodley, in the St. Boniface Church. She survives.
He was a lifelong resident of the area and was a graduate of Kersey High School, Class of 1944. He was an employee of the Stackpole Carbon Co., retiring in 1987 after more than 45 years of service. He was a veteran of World War II having served in the Navy.He was a member of the St. Boniface Church, Ridgway Sportsmen's Club, Kersey Firemen and the American Legion. He enjoyed gardening, hunting and fishing.
Survivors include two sons, Rick and Ron Wildfire, both of Kersey; a sister, Florence (Henry) Arigoni of Kersey; a brother, Robert (Diane) Wildfire of Kersey.
He was also preceded in death by four sisters: Mary Pearson, Alice Wildfire, Anna Freeburg and a sister in infancy; and six brothers, Ralph, Francis, Jerome, Alan Wildfire and Robert and Alois Wildfire who both died in infancy.

WILDFIRE: Carl W., Cherry Road, Kersey, died Feb. 15, 2011. Friends will be received from 5-7 p.m. Thursday at the Lynch-Radkowski Funeral Home. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 10 a.m. Friday at St. Boniface Church with the Rev. James Faluszczak officiating. Full military rites will be accorded by the Fox Township Servicemen's Burial Detail.
