Alexander Harmon
Alexander Harmon, 82, of Rt. 1, Hillsville, died in a Galax hospital about 7 p.m.
Monday, May 18, 1966.
He was born in Carroll County July 1, 1883, to Henry C. Harmon and wife. Mrs.
Hannah Katherine Winesett Harmon.
Surviving are his wife, Mrs. Bertha Fowler Harmon; six daughters, Mrs. Thornton W.
Lineberry, Hillsville; Mrs. J. Wesley Lundy, Galax; Mrs. Clayton Burnett, Long Beach,
Calif.; Mrs. Elbert Dillon, Collinsville, and Mrs. Bernie Jennings and Mrs. Edwin El­liott,
both of Chesapeake; one son, Dewey Harmon, Woodlawn; three sisters, E. H. Jen­nings,
Athens, W. Va.; Mrs. Callie McCoy, Alexandria, and Mrs. J. A. Hartman, Dinuba,
Calif. three brothers, Arnold Harmon, Ballard, W. Va.; Cla­yton Harmon, Martinsville,
and Gleaves Harmon, Woodlawn; 18 grandchildren, and nine great-grandchildren.
Funeral services were con­ducted at 2 p.m. Wednesday, May 18, at Vaughan-Guynn
Funeral Home Chapel by Elder J. R. Vass, Elder Ray Rotenizer and Rev. Donald Clay.
Interment was in Monta Vista Memory Gardens.
