Hallack, Clinton E. 88, of Shelby, passed away Thursday, Feb. 4, 2010 surrounded by family in the same home where he was born. He was born Aug. 1, 1921 to Ernest and Frances (Barritt) Hallack. Clinton graduated from Brooks Country School and then from Shelby High School in 1939. He took an agriculture diploma course in 1946 from MSU. He farmed and also worked at Dupont and retired from Hooker Chemical. He was a member of Shelby Congregational United Church of Christ. He had been a 4-H leader and had served as an Oceana County Road Commissioner. He was also sexton at Oceana Center Cemetery. Mr. Hallack enjoyed farming and everything that God created. He loved spending time with his family and at his South Juniper Beach cottage. He is survived by his wife of 58 years, Nancy; his children, Jerianne (Ronald) Block, Stanley (Sharon) Hallack, Daniel (Bernice) Hallack, and Kerry (Jeanne) Hallack; brother, George Hallack; sister-in-law, Amy Lowell; 12 grandchildren; 10 great-grandchildren; two nieces and two nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents, his son, James, and his granddaughter, Kirsten Melissa Block. Interment was in Oceana Center Cemetery.
