QUINLAN – Harold D., "Babe", "Lightening", Brookshire, Sr., 71, passed away Sunday, February 13, 2011 at his residence in Quinlan, Texas.

Visitation for "Lightening" will be from 6 – 8 P.M., Wednesday, February 16, 2011 at Bratcher Funeral Home.

Funeral service will be held at 1:00 P.M., Thursday, February 17, 2011 at Bratcher Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. David Drennon officiating. Burial will follow at Luella Cemetery, Luella, Texas.

"Babe" was born in Grayson County, Texas on October 17, 1939, the son of William Dalton Brookshire and Mammie Lee Grant. He worked as a heavy construction equipment operator for Marriott Brothers. He liked to hunt, fish and travel.

He is survived by son Dean Brookshire & wife Mary of Seagoville, Texas; daughter Teresa Adcock & husband Gary of Dallas, Texas; brothers Virgil Brookshire of Seven Points, Texas, Billy Carl Brookshire of Mabank, Texas; sister Irene Meek of Seagoville, Texas; grandchildren Michael Youngblood, Richard Youngblood, Aisha Brookshire, Brittney Brookshire; great- grandchildren J. R. Mitchell, Destany Youngblood and Tristan Aaron.

He was preceded in death by his parents, brother John Brookshire; half-sisters Willie M. Clinton and Luller Condiff.
