Arthur Hubert Reed, 85, died at 8:45 p.m. Friday in Childress General Hospital after a lengthy illness.
Funeral rites are scheduled for 2 p.m. today in the Childress Church of Christ by E.A. Sanders, minister of the Kirkland Church of Christ, and burial will be in Childress Cemetery.
Mr. Reed was born March 17, 1878, at Cooper in Delta county, and was a retired farmer. He came to Childress from Lamar County in 1928 and had lived here since. He was a member of the Church of Christ.
Pallbearers will be grandsons Grady Clifton, Robert Wilson, Duane Reed, Harold, Derall and Robert Anderson.
Survivors are four daughters, Mrs. Floyd Wilson of Grand Junction, Colo., Mrs. Jim Anderson, Mrs. Howard Clifton and Mrs. Opal Mooney, all of Childress; three sons, Lee Reed of Norman, Okla., Floyd of Wyoming and Paul of Denver; a half-brother, Lem Wilson of Tyler; 22 grandchildren, 24 great-grandchildren and one great-great grandson.
