Dean E Vaubel was born to Oliver "Ollie" Charles Vaubel and Anna Mabel Lindeman (Shafer) Vaubel. He was one of four children, the others named Ellis Kendall, Helene May and Rex.
He attended school at Dysart and graduated from Dysart High School. He continued his education at Iowa State University in Ames for a short time.
On May 30, 1943 , he married Dorothy Johnson from Laurens, Iowa.
They made their home farming successfully for many years in the Dysart and LaPorte City area.

He was a member of the Dysart Rural Fire Department and numerous other civic duties, including Justice of the Peace, during his long life in the Dysart area.

He loved life and his humorist outlook, happy demeanor had the spark of life and he lived with zest. He loved animals and people. Needless to say , he was also loved back by his family and friends.

His interests were many ...just a few were farming,antique farm equipment, horse races, and classic cars .
