Sherman (TX) Democrat, March 18, 1982:
Graveside services for John T. Creecy, 72 - year old retired papermill employee of Sherman who died Wednesday in a Sherman nursing home, will be held at 10 a.m. Friday at Cedarlawn Memorial Park. Rev. Harold Johnson of Forest Avenue Baptist Church will officiate and Waldo Funeral Home has charge of arrangements.

Mr. Creecy was born September 11, 1909 in Grayson County, the son of Mr. and Mrs. John W. Creecy and married Jane Baker. He was employed by a Dallas papermill for more than 20 years prior to moving back to Sherman. He was a World War II veteran and a Baptist.

Surviving are brothers, Fred Creecy of Sherman and Andrew Creecy of San Diego, California and sister, Mrs. Pauline Venable of Lubbock. The family will be at the funeral home from 7 to 8 p.m., Thursday and other times at 1420 S. Walnut.

Mary Jane Cravens married February 9, 1921 to Albert Burton Bacon, her 2nd marriage was to John Thomas Creecy.
