At his home in Fremont, Ind., aged 34 years, 8 months and 20 days.
Deceased was born in Bridgewater, Ohio, May 24, 1862. While quite young he removed to Steuben county with his parents. His father having died when Emory was but nine years old, he was thrown upon his own resources. He was married to Miss Ida Tillotson March 31, 1894.
Over a year ago he was taken seriously ill and for seven months was confined to his bed, but rallied and was able to be out for about three months. On election day he again took to his bed, from which he never rose again.
About ten years ago he united with the M. E. church at Fremont, and remained a faithful member until his death. He died fully trusting in the power of Jesus to save. Although his sufferings were at times almost beyond human endurance, he bore them patiently to the end, fully realizing how infinitely more his Saviour had suffered for him. He left to mourn their loss a grief-stricken wife, a mother, one sister, seven brothers and a host of friends,
The funeral services were conducted by Rev. A. Stockdale at the M. E. church, Wednesday morning, Feb. 17. He was laid to rest in a beautiful ashes-of-roses casket, his brothers acting as pall bearers. Kind friends furnished the floral designs and beautifully decorated the church.
