Morgan died Feb. 2, 2011, in Smithlake. He was born Feb. 4, 1941, in Crownpoint, into the Water Flows Together People Clan for the Towering House People Clan.
Morgan attended Crownpoint Boarding School and Intermountain in Utah. He served in the Army and liked to do ranch work.
Survivors included his wife, Etta Y. Morgan of Smith Lake; daughters, Clara Miller of Thoreau; brothers, Benjamin Morgan of Becenti, Ned Morgan Jr. of Smith Lake, Clifford Morgan of Crownpoint, Jimmy Benally of Canoncito; sisters, Blanche N. Bruce of Farmington, Sadie Chavez of Crownpoint, Ruby Morgan of Crownpoint, Rita Andy of Fruitland, Mary Enrike of Crownpoint, Mary Desiderio of Haystack; five grandchildren; three great-grandchildren.
Morgan was preceded in death by his parents, Ned Morgan Sr., Katherine Morgan; brother, Ralph Morgan.
The family will receive relatives and friends at Becenti Chapter House, 10 miles north of Crownpoint, following services.
