ORANGE, Mass. -- Clay C. White Jr., 69, of Orannge, and formerly of Leominster, died Thursday, September 18, 2008, at the UMass Memorial Healthcare, in Worcester after an illness.

He leaves his wife Nancy (Beckwith) White, five daughters, Deborah White, Sheri White-Suarez both of Orange, Terri Hoog of Florida, Tammy Herlocker, and Paula Riley, both of Leominster, two sons, Brian White of Templeton, and Ben White of Florida, 12 grandchildren, and 8 great-grandchildren, one brother Steve Traywick of Texas.

He is predeceased by his mother-in-law whom lived with him, Gladys Beckwith who died May 31, 2008.

Clay was born in Fort Worth, Texas on January 12, 1939, a son on the late Clay C. and Anne Katherine (Traywick).

Clay was a Gunnery Sergeant in the U.S. Marine Corps, having served 3 tours of duty in Vietnam, and retired with 20 years of service in 1975.

He was a resident of Leominster for 28 years before moving to Orange last year.

Clay was a member of the North Leominster Rod and Gun Club, and enjoyed hunting, fishing, and camping.

WHITE Funeral Services and burial with Military Honors will be held on Wednesday, September 24, 2008 at 3:00 P.M. in the Massachusetts Veterans
