ALLEN, Joseph William Joseph William Allen, 61, of Vernon, beloved husband of Jean Irish (Hurley), passed away peacefully with his family by his side on Sunday (March 28, 2010). He was born on April 20, 1948, son of William Allen of Ashby, MA and the late Margariett (Handley). He served in the U.S. Marine Corps and was a Vietnam Veteran. He enjoyed fishing, nature, gardening, and was a history buff. Besides his wife, he is survived by his children, Jason William Allen of Richmond, VA, Jody Lynn Fitzwater and her husband James of Sparks, NV; his brothers, David and Mitchell Allen; his sisters, Debbra Gaffney and Sharon Allen; as well as seven grandchildren.
