Maurene Austin Lafevre, 92, of Smithville, passed away Feb. 28, 2003, at White County Community Hospital.
Lafevre was born May 5, 1910, in DeKalb County, to Almon C. Austin and Betty Lena Maynard Austin.
She attended the First Baptist Church in Smithville and had been a beautician.
Lafevre was preceded in death by her parents; her husband Clyde Lee Lafevre; three sisters; Adele Love, Auda Frances Watson and Reba Padgett; six brothers, Olm Austin, Ray Austin, Ammon Austin, Drake Austin and Paul Austin.
Survivors include one son and daughter-in-law Clyde Austin and Carol Lafevre of Michigan; five sister's-in-law, Katherine Elkins Austin of Marysville, Reba Bumbalough and Gerta Holman Austin both of Sparta, Ruth Austin of Nashville and Eloise Austin of Mississippi; and grandchildren, Zachary L. Lafevre and wife Verity of Romania, William D. Lafevre of Bristol, and Amanda F Lafevre of Gardan City, Mich.
Services were at 3 p.m., March 3, 2003, at the chapel of Thurman Funeral Home with burial in Oaklawn Cemetery. Bro. Elmore Judd officiated.
Thurman Funeral Home was in charge of arrangements.
