Jack Stephens, 77, Dies In Hospital

John F. "Jack" Stephens, 77, a life-long resident of this city, died Sunday morning at Mary Washington Hospital. He had been critically ill for about four days. He had been in failing health for several years.

He is survived by his wife, Mrs. Leona Stephens; four sons, John Franklin, John Franklin, Jr., and Charles E., of this city, and Aubrey Stephens, of Washington, and three daughters, Mrs. Marion Hayba, of Baltimore, and Nellie Stephens and Maude Stephens, of Washington.

Funeral services will be held at 3 p.m. tomorrow at the Wheeler and Thompson Funeral Home.

The services will be conducted by the Rev. E. F. Caverlee

Funeral services were held this afternoon at the Wheeler and Thompson chapel for John F. "Jack" Stephens, who died Sunday morning at Mary Washington Hospital. The rites were conducted by Dr. R. F. Caverlee.

In addition to other relatives, he is survived by a brother, Willie Stephens, and a sister Mrs. Emma Baker, both of this city.

Pallbearers will be Randolph Toombs, Elmer R Springer, Charles Barbee, Frank Shelton, Amon Dickinson and Isaac Stanles.
