Charles William Ankrom, 69, of LaPlace, IL. passed away at 6:36 p.m., Thursday, Feburary 10th. 2011 at St. Mary's Hospital
Graveside funeral services will be 10:00 a.m. Wednesday, February 16, 2011 at the Cerro Gordo Cemetery.
Memorials: Cerro Gordo Fire Dept or Cerro Gordo Ambulance.
Charlie was born November 15, 1941 in Argenta, IL., the son of Ralph and Irene (Griswold) Ankrom. He was a boiler maker at Kopetz Mfg for 24 yrs, retiring in 2002. Charlie also served for many years as a voluntee firefighter for the Cerro Gordo Fire Dept.
Charlie had a passion and love for restoring and collecting Cub Cadet Tractors, was a big fan of NASCAR and always enjoyed watching the trains and traffic come thru.
Charlie was preceded in death by his parents, sister, Karen Ankrom; brother, Louis "Skip" Ankrom.
Charlie leaves behind many friends and loved ones. A special thank you to Ruth Fansler and family, Ed Cain and family, Amber Engel and family for their loyal friendship and dedications.
