Louie Akins Jr., 51, of Cookeville, Tenn., died Wednesday after a short illness.
Mr. Akins was born in Floyd County on Nov. 23, 1947, son of Mrs. Louie E. Akins and the late Louie E. Akins Sr. He was a member of First Christian Church of Rome, had attended West Rome High School and was a graduate Shorter College.
Survivors include his mother, Rome.
Graveside services will be held Saturday at 11 a.m. at Sunset Hill Memorial Gardens with the Rev. Hoy Ledbetter officiating.
