John LeRoy Dame , Sr., age 90, died in Salt Lake City on October 18, 1990.
He was born October 7, 1900 in Fillmore, Utah to LeRoy and Mary A. Dame . He married Carol Elizabeth Cowley on August 25, 1926 in the Salt Lake LDS Temple.
He worked until his retirement for Kennecott Copper Co. He was a member of the LDS Church, Holladay 18th Ward and had served a mission to the Southern States. He was a great fisherman, deer hunter and gardener.
He is survived by two daughters and a son, Mrs. Carol Joan (Joseph) Larsen, Irvine, Calif.; Mrs. Nancy (Darrell V.) Knight, Salt Lake City; John and Carolyn Dame , Jr., Sandy; 19 grandchildren; 22 great-grandchildren; and one great-great-grandchild. Also surviving are two sisters and a brother, Della E Edmunds, Salt Lake City; Bonnie D. Nelson, St. George; and Merrill R. 'Bud' Dame , Fruitland, Idaho.
Funeral services will be Tuesday, October 23, 1990, at 1 p.m., in the Holladay 18th Ward, 2625 East Milo Way (4910 So.). Friends may call at MacKay Cottonwood Mortuary, 4670 Highland Drive, Mnday from 6-8 p.m. and Tuesday at the church, one hour prior to services. Burial will be in the MacKay Holladay Memorial Park.
