Erma "Sue" Sibley died at home Monday following a year of illness.

Mrs. Sibley, 79, was born January 9, 1912, in Chelsea, Oklahoma and died on October 7, 1991, in Taft, California.

She moved to Taft in 1944 where her husband, Don, was employed in the oilfields. She was a lifetime member of the Seventh Day Adventist Church, serving in various capacities. She was an enthusiastic, cheerful, optimistic person, always trying to be helpful to others. She greatly enjoyed her family and many friends and will be missed by all who knew her.

Her interests and skills included oil painting, sewing, gardening, canning and preserving, and living as a devoted homemaker, wife and mother.

Mrs. Sibley is preceded in death by her husband Donald Milton Sibley and her son Duane Meredith Sibley. She is survived by a daughter, four grandchildren, two great grandsons, and a brother.

The pastor of the Seventh Day Adventist Church will officiate at private services at West Side District Cemetery.

Arrangements are being handled by Hillcrest Mortuary and the Neptune Society.

Contributions to the Seventh Day Adventist Church are suggested.
