He is survived by: his wife of 27 years, 11 months and 8 days (not nearly long enough in her eyes but blessed she had him for that time); his son Kevin Thomas (Angela); daughter Stefanie Sneed (Brandon); son-in-law Nicholas Goff; granddaughters Kelsey and Kylie Thomas; grandsons Taylor, Collin and Jonathan Parks, and James Nicholas Goff III; brothers Phillip Boyd (Mitzi), Wallace Boyd (Claudia) and sister Victoria Venner (Larry); and mother Celia Boyd; sisters and brothers-in-law Bettie and Donnie Nesbit and Darlene and Dennis Thomas; several nieces and nephews and great nieces and nephews; special great-niece Jacie Gray whom he loved very much.
Those who went before him were his daughter and light of his life Stacie Boyd Goff, his father Douglas Boyd; infant brother Douglas Boyd, Jr., and father and mother-in-laws Sterrett and Daltha Bratcher.
Donald was a special person with a heart as big as Texas. He was currently employed as Circulation Director of the Times Record News in Wichita Falls. Don started in the newspaper business in the late 1980s as a carrier for the Dallas Times-Herald and then became a manager. He then worked for the Dallas Morning News and for the Rocky Mountain News. Don then went to work for the Commercial Appeal in Memphis, Tennessee. Don loved the newspaper business. They say you get ink in your blood and he definitely had it in his. Don was a hard-nosed perfectionist as all of his employees will say amen to, but he did it because of his love for them and the desire to help and see them be the best they could be and succeed. Don was also a member of Rotary North.
