Benny A. Elliott, 56, 1418 M Street, Bedford , died at 10 a.m. Thursday, April 29, 1983, following a short illness in Methodist Hospital at Indianapolis.

He was born December 5, 1926, in Paris , Illinois to Zack and Fern Clark Elliott. He married Helen Allen on December 24, 1953, and she survives.

He was vice-president of Elliott Stone Company, a veteran of World War Two, a member of Gillen Post 33, American Legion and of Nazarene faith.

Surviving with the wife are the mother of Bedford ; one son, Benny J. Elliott, at home; three daughters, Tangie Southern of Bedford, Sally Ann and Margie L. Elliott, Houston , Texas ; one grandchild; four brothers, John of Indianapolis and Jim, Dave, and Howard of Bedford, and one sister, Mrs. Jim (Mary) Aliano, Springville. Two brothers, Herb and Larry are deceased.

Services will be at 3 p.m. Saturday in the Elmwood Chapel of the Day & Carter Mortuary, the Rev. Paul Hoskins officiating. Burial will be in Green Hill Cemetery with graveside military rites by members of Gillen Post 33, American Legion.

Friends may call at the funeral home from 2 to 9 p.m. today, and from 9 a.m. Saturday to service time. Friends are asked to consider memorials to the American Cancer Society.
