Martina Frances Grisnik, 89, of Kansas City KS., passed away surrounded by her loving family on Wednesday, February 9, 2011. She will forever be remembered as a loving mother, and beloved grandmother. Martina was born on May 28, 1921 in Kansas City, KS., to J. Randall and Cassie (Cole) Thompson. She attended Longfellow Elementary and Wyandotte High School. She was a member of Grace Assembly Church Of God in Kansas City, KS. Martina worked at "The Creamery" off Central Ave., the Commercial National Bank, as Librarian for the Kansas City Kansas Library, and volunteered as Librarian for St. Peter's Elementary School. Martina is preceded in death by her parents, husband; Otto F. Grisnik, daughter; Jan Grisnik, and two brothers; Eugene Thompson and Lonnie Bradwell. Survivors include her children; Jeanne Grisnik Henning of Kansas City, KS., John Grisnik of Kansas City, KS. and J. Beth Hoenscheidt and her husband Jim of Lenexa, KS. Other survivors include her brother; Robert Bradwell and sister; Myra Decker. Left behind to cherish her memory are her seven grandchildren; Christian, Benjamin, Leanna, Melody, Kathleen, Michael, Marie, and one great grandson; Anthony Otto. Martina will be sadly missed by many nieces and nephews. Funeral services will be 11:00 a.m. Monday, February 14, 2011 at the Chapel Hill-Butler Funeral Home. Burial in Chapel Hill Memorial Gardens. Friends may call from 3:00-5:00 p.m. Sunday, February 13, 2011 at the funeral home.
