LaVerne A. Maul-Elliott, 83, of Canby, Ore., and formerly of Sterling, died June 9, 2004. Visitation is June 15 from 10 a.m. to 12 p.m. at Gerk Funeral Home in Haxtun. Burial will follow at 2 p.m. at Holyoke Memorial Park.

Mrs. Maul-Elliott was born Sept. 17, 1920, in Daykin, Neb.

On May 19, 1940, she married Clemens Maul in Fruitland, Idaho. They loved in Sterling for 40 years, where she worked as a secretary at Northeastern Junior College. Mr. Maul died in 1979.

In 1983, she moved to Senior Estates in Woodburn, Ore., where she was a member of Hope Lutheran Church and worked as a secretary there.

She married Delbert Elliott in Woodburn in 1992. Mr. Elliott died Dec. 11, 2002.

She is survived by sons Ron Maul, Tampa, Fla., and Barry Maul, Aurora; sister Irene Heiner, Holyoke; seven grandchildren; and three great-grandchildren.

Memorials may be made to the American Leukemia Society.
