Newton B. Chamberlain, a very highly esteemed resident of Barnes Corners, died at his home in that village Thursday afternoon at 1:15 at the age of 81 death being caused by the infirmities of age. He was born in the town of Pinckney, January 21, 1856, the son of Oren Chamberlain and Manila Tyler Chamberlain. He held the office of town clerk of the town of Pinckney for 20 years. He is survived by his wife, Ida Geddes Chamberlain, and one daughter, Mrs. Alta Moulton, of Detroit, Mich., and two granddaughters. the funeral services were held at 2 Saturday afternoon from his home in Barnes Corners. Rev. Cuyler W. Bachelor, of Lorraine Methodist church, officiating. Burial in Barnes Corners cemetery.
