Eugene Baker, a well-known citizen of this city died at his home, No. 95 Franklin street, at 2:30 o'clock this morning. The deceased had only been ill since Friday last when he was confined to his house with a slight indisposition, but a complication of troubles setting in, he passed away this morning after being unconscious for 21 hours. His death was due to congestion of the liver and a general derangement of the kidneys and bladder. The deceased was in his fifty-eighth year of his age and was born in the town of Venice from whence his parents, Dr. and Mrs. Charles E. Baker, moved to this city. The invalid mother, a wife, two daughters, Mrs. C. B. Young and Mrs. W. H. Berwald, of Syracuse, and a sister, Mrs. D. C. Henry, of Court street, survive him. All his family were at the bedside when he died. The deceased practiced dentistry in Auburn for over 25 years, was a popular musician and his genial nature made him many friends. Baker's orchestra was known throughout the county, where the leader was always in demand at dances. The funeral will be held at 2:30 o'clock Saturday afternoon and interment will be at Fort Hill.
