Born in Jonava, Lithuania, married Chana Freedman of Phildadelphia in 1908 in Bronx, NY. His mother was Tauba Myrovitz, born in Lithuania circa 1852, died before 1883, when his father married second wife Rachel Finfer of Seta, Lithuania. Family emigrated to Boston, Massachusetts. Abraham was one of the founders of Paole Zion in the United States in 1904. Graduated Harvard 1902, Ph.D Columbia U. 1916. Taught at Gymnasia Ibrith in Jaffa. On the board of Jewish Encyclopedia. With wife, were early pioneers in Israel, and knew everyone connected with the early state of Israel. He wrote the first Hebrew-English dictionary.
