ABINGDON -- Clark W. Ferris Sr., 95, of Rural Route 1 for 46 years, died at 8:50 a.m. Sunday, Sept. 20, 1992, at Marigold Health Care Center in Galesburg. Born Feb. 17, 1897, in Galesburg to Frank and Addie Cone Ferris , he married Alice Hendricks on June 7, 1922, in Galesburg. She survives. Also surviving are two sons, Clark Jr. of Wataga and Walter of rural Abingdon; four daughters, Bettie Groom of Galesburg, Bonnie Anderson of Galva, Darlene Lester of Abingdon and Cassilee Mabey of Caldwell, Ind.; 13 grandchildren; 15 great-grandchildren; two stepgrandchildren; and 8 great-great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by one brother and two sisters. He was a farmer all of his life. Graveside services will be at 2 p.m. Wednesday at Knoxville Cemetery. The Rev. Kermit W. Petersen will officiate. Visitation will be from 6:30 to 8 tonight at Hinchliff-Pearson- West Chapel in Galesburg. Memorials may be made to any charity.
