Mary Mayberry, born Nov. 10, 1756 in Windham, Maine, was the daughter of Captain Richard & Martha (Bolton) Mayberry. Martha Bolton was the daughter of Thomas & Mary (McLellan) Bolton, both from Ireland c. 1729. Captain Richard Mayberry, son of William Mayberry of Ireland, left his farm and family trade of blacksmithing, and served in the Revolutionary War for over three years as Captain, 5th Company, 11th Regiment of the Massachusetts Bay Forces. Capt. Richard Mayberry was killed by a falling tree in Raymond, Nov. 4, 1807, at the age of 72 years; is buried on Leach Hill in Casco.
