Rites Thursday For Bruce E. Branigin
Funeral services for Bruce Edwin Branigin, 17, a Roosevelt High School pupil, will be held at 1 o'clock Thursday in Forkner's chapel. Burial will be in Acacia.
Bruce who would have been a senior at Roosevelt next fall, died of a [astrocytoma] brain tumor Sunday after an illness of five months. Born here, he was a member of the Roosevelt swimming and ski teams and of the Washington Athletic Club swimming team.
Bruce was chairman of junior social activities at the athletic club. He was chairman of the Junior Deacons, at the University Christian Church and a member of the Green Lake Chapter of DeMolay. He was active in the Junior Red Cross.
Bruce is survived by his parents, Mr. and Mrs. William A. Branigin, 7515 18th Av. N.E.; a brother, Robert Branigin, Seattle; his paternal grandmother, Mrs. Verne Branigin, Mount Vernon, and his maternal grandfather, D.N. Gellatly, Wenatchee.
