Vivian Marie Almond Farr Nicholas, 93, of Antlers, OK, died December 16, 2010. Born January 4, 1917, in Antlers, to Jewel and Maggie (Messer) Almond, the third of five children.

A housewife and mother, Vivian also worked outside of the home for Pushmataha County Abstract Company and Farmers' Home Administration (FmHA) of the US Dept. of Agriculture, retiring from the FmHA in 1977. She and husband Billy Farr had three children and were married for 20 years until his premature death in 1960. Vivian was later married to Max Nicholas from 1971 until his death in 2005.

Vivian was a long time member of First Presbyterian Church of Antlers, teaching Sunday School and singing in the choir. She was active in the order of the Eastern Star, Oklahoma Grand Chapter, and National Association of Retired Federal Employees. She and Max enjoyed traveling but her greatest passion was for her family with whom she loved spending time. A devoted wife, faithful Christian, dear friend and beloved mother, grandmother, great grandmother, sister and aunt, Vivian was a blessing to all who knew her and will be greatly missed.

Vivian was preceded in death by her parents: Jewel & Maggie Almond; her sisters: Evelyn Wagner and Helen Hughes; brothers: Julius Almond and Thomas Rea; first husband: Billy Farr; daughter: Eva Lynn Clements; and second husband: Max Nicholas.

Vivian is survived by daughter: Sue Hardy and granddaughter: Margaret Hardy of Austin, TX; son & daughter-in-law: Amos & Hazlette Farr of Ft. Gibson, OK, granddaughter & her husband: Cathy & Ron Guthrie, and great granddaughter: Lindsay Guthrie of Tulsa, OK; granddaughter and her husband: Sara & Jay Kyte of Oklahoma City, OK; grandson: Bill Farr of Muskogee, OK; and Max's three daughters: Nancy Escue, Nikki Mezger & Mary Barrick, their husbands, children and grandchildren.

The family wishes to extend special thanks to Leatha Scott, Vivian's compassionate caregiver during her final years.
