HUSBAND, WIFE TAKEN BY DEATH
Husband and wife died within a 20-minute period at their home in Vega on the morning of September 19, 1943.
Mrs. Mary Clifford PUCKETT died at 12:10 o'clock following a heart attack and her husband, John Edward PUCKETT, died of shock about 20 minutes later.
Mrs. PUCKETT, who was 53 years old, had been suffering from gallstone trouble. Her husband, who was 54, and have been in failing health about three years.
Mr. and Mrs. PUCKETT moved to Vega from Canadian about two weeks ago. Mrs. PUCKETT taking a position as teacher in the public schools there. Mr. PUCKETT had intended to follow his profession as carpenter and contractor.
Mr. PUCKETT was a native Texan. Mrs. PUCKETT was born in Arkansas. They were members of the Baptist Church.
They are survived by two sons, Ralph M. PUCKETT, Pampa and Millard W. PUCKETT, Clovis, New Mexico, and three daughters, Mrs. Mary Elizabeth BREWER, Pampa and Misses Margaret Elaine PUCKETT and Josephine PUCKETT, both of Vega. They also leave three grandchildren.
The bodies were in state in the chapel of N. S. Griggs and Sons until they are taken to Canadian for funeral services in the First Baptist Church in Canadian followed by burial in the Canadian Cemetery.
