An Army Air Corps veteran of World War II, he served as a permanent intermittent police officer in Ware for 25 years, retiring in 1979. He retired as a plant carpenter in 1981.
He was a member of the Southern Massachusetts Police Association and Ware Veterans of Foreign Wars Post 2577.
He leaves his wife, the former Helen Krawczyk; his mother, the former Helen Taberski of Ware; a son, Leo Jr. of Ware; a daughter, Beverly Goudreau of Ware; a foster daughter, Sherry Kittredge of Ware; three sisters, Doris Hale of Palmer, Beverly Kargol of Ware and Rita Kinder of Florida; and a grandchild.
The funeral will be tomorrow morning at Charbonneau Funeral Home and in the church with burial in the New St. William's Cemetery, all in Ware. Springfield Republican
