Harold J. Biesboer, age 81, passed away Monday February 7, 2011.
He is a veteran of the United States Army, stationed in Germany during his service.
Harold worked for 45 years as a Operating Engineer in the Midwest Operating Engineer's Union. He loved going on mission trips to The Welcome Orphanage in Mexico where the kids called him The Candy Man.
He is survived by his wife; Marlene (Nee Boomsma), two children; Mary (Paul) Wiltjer, and Michael (Peggy) Biesboer, seven grandchildren; Brad (Melissa) Vander Woude, Katie (Mark) Castillo, Julie Vander Woude, Christopher, Elise, Brendan, and Gregory Biesboer, four great grandchildren; Natalie Castillo, Matthew, Zachary, and Jonathon Vander Wounde. One brother; Renald (Betty) Biesboer, brothers and sisters in law; Janet Boomsma, Marilyn Boomsma, Edie (Ken) Rober, Jackie Boomsma, and Tom (Bonnie) Boomsma.
Harold is preceded in death by three brothers in law; Milton, Arnold, and Neil Boomsma.
Funeral services: Friday, February 11, 2011, at 10:00 AM at First Reformed Church of Lansing.
Burial: Abraham Lincoln National Cemetery, Elwood.
