Rosetta appears to have been a long-term patient at the state mental hospital. It is puzzling her marital status did not change and Edwin Fletcher becomes "widowed."
Apparently her mother was also insane. There are two Rosetta Beemans, paupers from Milton, at the Asylum for the Insane, listed as receiving weekly support payments in 1885.
"Mrs. Edwin Fletcher is no better, and arrangements are being made by the authorities to take her back to the asylum."
Argus and Patriot, February 26, 1896.
