Mrs. M.J. Kolb, wife of the late Capt. P.M. Kolb, died at the home of her son, Sunday morning, May 31, 1914. The funeral was conducted at the community cemetery by Cornelius A. Whiter, Pastor of the first Christian Church this city, at eleven o'clock Monday, interment following at high noon.
Deceased was born in Washington County, Texas, August 28, 1834. Sher raised a family of seven children besides one step daughter, three of whom with her husband have preceded her to the unseen world.
Besides those of the children that remain she leaves ten grandchildren and one brother to mourn her loss.
Sister Kolb, was a faithful Christian. No one left behind can remember when she accepted her savior and began to follow Him, although her brother, Mr. Jackson of Ballinger, is now sixty-nine years old. In her last days she was deprived of intimate association with any congregation on account of physical infirmities, however, she kept in touch with all benevolent work of the church and contributed of her means to the support of the Gospel. Truly a mother in Israel, has passed to her reward and left for her posterity a legacy greater than the cattle upon a thousand hills.
