From the records of Clarence W. Love, Undertaker, Phelps Co, MO: Mrs. Sina F. McAfee was born April 4, 1821, in Gasconade county, Missouri and was raised in that, and the adjoining county of Franklin. In 1870, she moved to Maries County and lived there until the last two years during which time she was a resident of Rolla. Her husband died in 1868. She was the mother of twelve children, three of whom are living: Mrs. Caroline Robinson of Maries County, and who is 72 years of age; Mike McAfee of Shannon County, and George McAfee of this city. One brother survives her, Rev. Jackson Perkins [Andrew Jackson Perkins] of Iberia. Mrs. McAfee was well known, not only in the counties in which she was raised, but in many adjoining counties.. .When but sixteen years of age she united with the Methodist church and remained during her long life a faithful member.... Her death occurred at the home of her son George in Rolla, October 11. Funeral services were held that evening by Rev. T.P. Shaffer. The following day the remains were taken to Maries County for interment in the Kenner Church cemetery. (Rolla Times—Oct 11, 1909)
