The Gridley Twice-A-Week Herald, Wednesday, April 11, 1917, pg 1 col 6: Former Editor of Oroville Paper Dies. Edward Cunningham, for many years an employee of the Marysville Appeal, first as a job printer and later as business manager, and afterwards owner of the Oroville Mercury for two years, died yesterday at his home in Marysville of heart disease, after an illness of several months. He was forty-eight years old, and is survived by his wife and four children.
