He was born in the Township of Brooklyn on Feb. 25, 1907, son of Julius and Ida Schultz Badtke, and educated in Ripon schools. He was never married.
Badtke was retired as a state conservationist for Field and Stream. He served in the Army Air force from 1941 to 1945 during World War II.
Surviving are three brothers, Edwin of Rosendale, Max of Waupun and Reinhold of Appleton; four sisters, Mrs. Alfred Fude of Waupun, Mrs. Adele Galow, Ripon; and Mrs. Delmer Stam of Tomahawk; and Mrs. Herbert Paulsen, Winneconne.
Badtke was preceded in death by his parents.
Services were held at the Butzin-Marchant Funeral Home at 2 p.m. Tuesday with the Rev. Leonard Westphal, Brandon officiating. Interment was in the Rosendale Cemetery.
Visitation was held from 3 to 5 p.m. and 7 to 9 p.m., Monday at the Butzin-Marchant Funeral Home.
