Mrs. Edith Deus Funeral Held At Church of Christ
Tuesday, September 22, 1936

Mrs. Edith Deus, 18, of Fort Worth died at her apartment in that city Sunday and the funeral was held at the Church of Christ in this city Tuesday afternoon. A Church of Christ minister from Amarillo accompanied the mother, Mrs. Z.E. McCall (Mrs. M.H. Brackett) to this city and officiated at the service.

Mrs. Deus as formerly Miss Brackett, now Mrs. McCall.

Edith attended school her and was well known in this city before moving to Amarillo with her mother several years ago. She was a bride of eleven weeks. The husband accompanied the body her for the funeral services.

Many beautiful flowers were laid on the casket and at the grave where she was laid to rest beside her father.

The W.J. Petty Directors were in charge and burial was at Fairmount.

Graduated From High School Last Spring

Mrs. Eddie Deus, the former Miss Edith Brackett, was the daughter of Mrs. Z. E. McCall, 712 Harrison Street. She graduated from the Amarillo High School last spring.

She and Mr. Deus were married here the latter part of July just before the Snyder band left for an engagement in Wichita, Kansas. She returned here for a visit with her mother recently and left for Fort Worth to where the orchestra had moved, last week.

Mr. Deus is a native of Denver and had been in Amarillo for more than a year as a member of the Snyder orchestra.

She is survived only by her mother.
