Burnette Carroll Jones of Wilmington left this earthly life to go be with her Master on February 6, 2011.
She was born in Pender County NC on August 12, 1928, daughter of the late Ethridge Carroll and Hattie Carroll and was preceded in death by her husband Clyde Bell Jones and three brothers and two sisters.
Surviving are her children Deleon Ganey and wife Beth of Leland, Wanda Ganey Yopp and husband Allen of Wilmington, Vicki Jones Lehrschall and husband Roland of Leland and Sheila Jones Irving and husband Shane of Leland; eleven grandchildren and thirteen great grandchildren; a sister Exalene Sullivan of Wilmington, many nieces and nephews, all who she loved very much.
Mrs. Jones was a very active member of Lake Forest Baptist Church, having served as the Welcome Committee Coordinator, Bereavement & Social Committee. She worked the last few years of her life at Pender's Luncheonette as waitress and cook. Her most favorite thing to do was to cook for family & friends.
The family will receive friends from 7pm to 9pm Wednesday February 9, 2011 at
Andrews Mortuary Valley Chapel. A funeral service will be held 2PM , Thursday, February 10th 2011 at Lake Forest Baptist Church. Burial will follow in Greenlawn Memorial Park.
