Hardy A. Prentiss' father was "Alex" (John Alexander) Prentiss, born about Sep 1848, Greene Co., MS and died after 1898, Greene Co., MS; considered to be buried in the Williams Cemetery, more known locally as "Slydell Cemetery," on Demp's Road in the St. Ellen Community of Greene County. After much research, it is the opinion of the creator of this memorial that he either has no marker, or that his grave is mis-marked by the CSA marker of James Prentiss, who was his brother, James Alexander ("Jim") Prentiss, who is more closely associated with the Jonathan Community area of Greene County, having married Sarah Roberts, who is buried in the Mutual Rights Cemetery, Avera. Other opinions, or comments, are invited.
