John Rotharmel was born to Jacob Rotharmel and Anna Elizabeth Durr in Greeley, Colorado. He married Audrey Marie Elliott, daughter of Albert L Elliott and Winnie G Stevens, in about 1930. Wedding photo is provided by David S. Elliott (relative - cousin). They had 6 children: Joann, Judy, LaVeta, Lureta "Joyce" (died in train/car accident), John, and Donald. They are buried in Linn Grove Cemetery in Greeley, Weld County, Colorado along with Lureta.

Article says "Mr. and Mrs. Elliott look at an album containing pictures and memories from their 64 years of marrriage. Winnie Stevens and Albert Elliott were married Feb 10, 1903 at Glade, Kansas. And since last August made their home with their daughter Mrs. Audrey Rotharmel of 1877 11th Ave. After their marriage they farmed at Glade until about 1920 when they moved to Phillipsburg, KS. They lived in Johnstown from 1929 unttil 1931 when they moved to Denver where they made their home until last summer. After they left the farm, Elliott engaged in the oil, real estate and mining businesses until his retirement. The couple also has a son, Harold D. Elliott of Denver, five grandchildren and three great-grandchildren. To what do they attribute their many years of marriage? Mr. Elliott fondly looked at his wife and said, "I was just lucky enough to get a nice girl. We rnever really had a quarrel." Albert died one year later... and Winnie followed him in death 2 years later in 1970 - they are both buried near other Elliott relatives in Crown Hill Cemetery.
