Eva Darlene Vannatta, 66, of Mt. Vernon, passed away on Saturday, Feb. 5, 2011, at Crossroads Community Hospital in Mt. Vernon.
She was born in Opdyke on Dec. 15, 1944, the daughter of Raymond David and Beulah Evelyn (Smith) Shelton.
Eva is survived by a son, Robert "Robbie" Vannatta and wife Jerrianna of Bluford; three grandchildren, Robert, Justin and Nacola; three great-grandchildren, Shawn, Rebecca and Zack; a sister, Mary Shelton and husband Ronald of Mt. Vernon; four brothers, George Shelton and wife Jean of Opdyke, Raymond Shelton and wife Jean Iris of Opdyke, Harold Shelton and wife Delores "Bunny" of Mt. Vernon and Junior Ray Shelton of Mt. Vernon; two sisters-in-law, Vera D. Shelton of Woodlawn and Mary Jo Shelton of Lockport; and several nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her parents; a daughter, Gola; four brothers, David F. Shelton, James D. Shelton, Edward Lee Shelton and John Lloyd Shelton; and two sisters-in-law, Brenda and Delsie.
