He is the son of Jasper M. and Lillie (Law) Landers. He is the husband of Beulah Landers. He served in the U. S. Military during World War I. He was inducted at St. Joseph, Missouri on 7 April 1917. He was assigned to Company M, 4th Infantry, Missouri National Guard. Later he was assigned to Company M, 139th Infantry. He served overseas from 25 April 1918 until 24 April 1919. He worked as a lineman for the St. Joseph Light and Power Company. He was accidentally killed in a fall after receiving an electrical shock.
