Mrs. Mary Beaman, nee Phillips, was born in the year of 1857. Early in life she obeyed the gospel under the preaching of Eld. E. Baker. She was married to M.T. Beaman in the year of 1879. Mrs. Beaman was of a kind disposition and was a kind neighbor, friend, wife and mother. But since early in the summer of 1895 the hand of affliction was laid upon her. She was a silent sufferer all during the time but not until the last week of her sickness was she unable to be up. Her strong desire to live seemed to strengthen her. During her sickness she never murmured a complaint but was ever patient and hopeful. But the cord of life could hold no longer and on the morning of March 27, 1896, near 1 o'clock, her spirit took its flight to the God who gave it and on the following day the remains were placed in the Elm Springs cemetery. She leaves a husband, two children, brothers, sisters and an aged mother and many friends to mourn her loss. -S.R. Beaman, Seba, Ark.
