Funeral services for Ellis Austin Dasher, Sr., who died yesterday at his residence, 713 Barnard Street, after a long illness, will be held today at 3 p.m. at the Irvine Henderson Funeral Home, conducted by M. K. Vaughn, local evangelist. Burial will be in Greenwich section of Bonaventure Cemetery.
A native of Springfield, Mo., Mr. Dasher had lived in Savannah for the past 29 years. He was employed by the Savannah Electric and Power Company and the Savannah Transit Company.
He is survived by is wife, Mrs. Martha Hinely Dasher; two daughters, Mrs Clifford W. Turner and Mrs. John L. Batu, both of Savannah; two sons, Lowell B. Dasher, Savannah, and Ellis A. Dasher, Jr., Reseda, Calif; four sisters, Mrs. H. M. Tuten, Mrs. Inez Adams, Mrs. H. A. Kelsall and Mrs. H. O. Thompson, all of Savannah; four brothers, R. E. Dasher, Sr., of Valdosta, F. O. Dasher of Macon, and D. W. Dasher and H. D. Dasher, both of Savannah; five grandchildren and a number of nieces and nephews.
The body will remain at the funeral home until time for services.
Pallbearers will be S. W. Skinner, Jr., O. A. Nowell, H. D. Dasher, Jr., J. L. Thigpen, Allen Kessler and William A. Rahn, Sr.
